I’ll tell you what life in Uruguay is really like

My name is Julia, I’m Renat’s mom. Almost three years ago our whole family moved to Piriápolis. We now live here, the children attend a local school, and we are building our home.

If someone had sat down with us back then and honestly told us everything, we’d have saved a lot of money, time and nerves. Now I can be that person for you.

📍 Piriápolis · almost 3 years in Uruguay · I speak EN, ES, RU, UA

🕶️ Without rose-tinted glasses

Uruguay is often described as paradise. I won’t do that: the country has pros and cons, and you’ll hear about the cons from me before you buy your tickets, not after.

I don’t need to talk you into anything. My job is for you to decide with the real picture in front of you — and avoid the mistakes we once made.

☕ The consultation — an honest hour

We talk for an hour — online or in person in Piriápolis — about your specific situation.

Tip: write down all your questions in advance, even the small or awkward ones. The fuller your list, the more you’ll get out of the hour.

Afterwards you’ll know what to expect on every question you had: which documents to gather, what things really cost, how long they take and where the surprises usually are.

What else I can do for you

  • A Migración slot — even urgently

Regular appointments are now booked six months ahead, and catching a slot is a quest. But we know several ways. If it’s urgent, we can arrange an appointment within a month.

  • Registro Civil (the civil registry)

Queues there are brutal and free slots go in minutes. I’ll get you an appointment and help you file your documents correctly.

  • Ukrainian documents with apostilles — remotely

I work with an apostille bureau in Ukraine. Certificates, criminal records and other documents can be ordered without travelling — delivered to any country, to Uruguay even to my address.

  • Cédula

I’ll book DNIC for your first cédula, and for the second one once your residency is granted.

  • Interpreting and going with you

Bank, notary, doctor, a talk with a landlord — I’ll come along and interpret. In person in Piriápolis, Punta del Este and Maldonado.

  • School and hospital

I’ll help choose a school and enrol your children, and come with you to the clinic and the carné de salud — no problem.

🏡 Especially if you want to buy land or a house

We’re going through this right now: we bought a plot and are building a house. We finally have a lot of knowledge you won’t find in any listing.

I know the areas of Piriápolis and Maldonado worth buying in — and the ones I wouldn’t even look at. We know agencies and agents we trust.

I’ll tell you what to check before buying, come to viewings with you and help you come to terms — in Spanish, with no misunderstandings.

🧭 Most importantly — online support

If after the consultation you decide to put down roots in Uruguay, I can guide you online: what to do and in what order, which documents to prepare and where to file them.

You take the steps yourself, and I’m there with advice at each one. It costs many times less than a “turnkey move” — sometimes five times less.

Why I do this

«When we arrived, there was nobody we could even ask. We had to work through a lot ourselves: finding a place to live, buying land, and settling into life in a new country. We didn’t get everything right the first time — some mistakes cost us time and money. We’ve learned a lot along the way, and we want to share that experience to make things a little easier for those who come after us.»

▶️ Our life — in Renat’s videos

My son films everything as it is. Watch to see how we live here:

How it works

  1. You message me A few lines: who’s moving, when, and what’s ready.
  2. You gather questions Everything that worries you, as a list. Don’t be shy.
  3. An hour’s talk Online or in person in Piriápolis — about your situation.
  4. Then — if you like Migración, documents, land viewings, interpreting or online support. We agree on the format and price upfront.

I’m not a lawyer or an agency. Where you need a notary (Escribano Público) or a lawyer, I’ll say so honestly and point you to one. Rules change sometimes, so I always double-check what’s current.

Message me — I’ll reply today

Tell me who’s moving and what stage you’re at. I’ll suggest where to start.

Write to me — I answer myself. And I don’t disappear after the consultation: if a question comes up, I’m here.
