What affected me most
- Language: without it, school and friendships move more slowly
- Friends: they do not appear on a schedule; repeated situations and time matter
- Mindset: attitudes to rules, study and free time are different
- Home: an unfinished house, cold and construction were part of the adjustment too
Alongside lessons, our daily life included concrete, a wood stove and Starlink. Adaptation did not happen in the vacuum of a perfect apartment.
It is normal
Feeling like an outsider during the first months is not failure. Pretending everything is perfect and staying silent when it is hard can make things worse.
