Privacy policy

sheikhov.comupdated September 1, 2026
In short: this site uses Google Analytics for aggregate statistics and its own anonymous active-visitor counter. There are no accounts. The only form is the question box under each article, where a name is optional and no contact details are asked for at all. We do not sell your information or pass it to third parties. To ask about access, correction or deletion, email hello@sheikhov.com.

Who is responsible for the site

The site is run by Renat Sheikhov in Piriápolis, Uruguay. For privacy questions, contact hello@sheikhov.com. This page describes information that may be processed automatically when you visit.

Information processed by Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4. In its standard configuration, the service may process pages viewed, session timing and events, approximate country, browser and device information, and a random client identifier. Google Analytics may store cookies, including _ga, to distinguish visits.

We use aggregate statistics to understand which materials are read, find errors and improve the library. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers or other user-entered personal details to Google Analytics. Learn more about how Google processes data from partner sites.

The question form under articles

Each article has a form for asking a question. It has just two fields: the question itself (required) and a name (optional). The form does not ask for and does not store an email address, a Telegram handle or any other contact. The address of the page you sent it from and the time of sending are stored alongside the question, so it is clear what the question is about.

Separately from the question itself, the sender's IP address is kept for one hour. It is used only to limit spam (no more than five questions per hour from one address), is not linked to the text of the question, and is deleted automatically once the hour is up.

There is no registration and there are no accounts. Questions go to a private admin area and are never published automatically. If a question turns out to be useful to others, it may appear under the article together with the answer — shown with the name you gave, or signed “Anonymous” if you left the field empty. Answers are published on the site: the form cannot offer a personal reply, because no contact details are collected. The data is not shared with third parties and is not used for mailings. To have your question deleted or your name removed, email hello@sheikhov.com.

Site search

The site search (the Search button and ⌘K) stores only the query text and how many pages it matched. It is recorded once, when the search is closed, not on every keystroke. No IP address, visitor identifier or page address is attached to it, so these records cannot show who searched for what.

The purpose is narrow: to see what people look for and fail to find, and then write the missing part. Queries shorter than two characters or longer than sixty are not stored at all.

How our active-visitor counter works

To display only the number of active visitors, the browser creates a random session identifier. It sends that identifier together with the current page path, browser language, device category (mobile, tablet or desktop), a country code supplied by the hosting/proxy layer, and the hostname of an external referrer when available.

An active record is removed about 90 seconds after the last signal. So that the same person is not counted twice in a day, the identifiers for the current day are kept as a list in a separate file. At the end of the day that list is deleted and only two numbers per date go into the long-term history: how many visitors there were and how many signals. The counter does not ask for a name, email address or phone number, and it does not record the IP address. Hosting or proxy providers may still maintain their own technical logs under their settings.

Cookies and browser storage

  • Google Analytics may use cookies, including _ga.
  • The selected light or dark theme is stored in localStorage underrenat-theme.
  • The random visitor-counter identifier is stored in localStorage underrenat-online-id. It survives closing the tab and the browser — otherwise one person would count as a new visitor on every visit. It says nothing about you: it is simply a random string.
  • The currency selected in the price table — renat-price-cur.
  • The boxes you tick in the document checklist — renat-doc-checklist-v5. They are never sent anywhere and stay in your browser only.

You can remove cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. Blocking Analytics does not prevent access to the site's main content, although the visit may not appear in statistics.

Who may process the information

Technical information may be processed by Google Analytics and by the hosting infrastructure required to deliver the site. We do not sell personal data or build advertising profiles on this site. Google Analytics retention is governed by the account settings and Google's policies.

External links

The site links to YouTube, Telegram, Instagram and other external services. Their own privacy policies apply after you follow a link. We do not control what those services collect on their pages.

Your questions and rights

You may ask what information is available to us, request correction or deletion, or ask how it is processed. Email hello@sheikhov.com. Because the site has no user accounts, locating a specific record may require a technical identifier available to you or a description of the visit.

Changes to this policy

If the analytics setup or processing changes, this page will be updated and a new date will appear at the top. This document describes how the site works and is not a substitute for individual legal advice.
