Renat · Uruguay

Hi, I’m Renat 👋

Thinking of moving to Uruguay? My parents can help

I make YouTube videos about our life in Uruguay — there’s an English channel too, “Renat Uru”. Almost three years ago our whole family moved here, bought a plot in Piriápolis and started building our house.

People keep writing to me with questions about moving. So now my parents do consultations: they’ve been through all of it in practice and are happy to help you.

📍 Piriápolis, Uruguay · almost 3 years here · RU, UA, ES, EN

Write any time — we reply fast. And we don’t disappear after the consultation: if a question comes up a month or half a year later, we’re here.

Why we do this

«When we arrived, there was nobody we could even ask. We had to work through a lot ourselves: finding a place to live, buying land, and settling into life in a new country. We didn’t get everything right the first time — some mistakes cost us time and money. We’ve learned a lot along the way, and we want to share that experience to make things a little easier for those who come after us.»

The videos on my channel tell our story best:

🏡 Especially if you’re looking for a house or land

Over these years we’ve driven all over Piriápolis and the Maldonado region: we searched for land ourselves, bought a plot and are building a house on it.

So we know the pitfalls nobody usually tells you about — and the areas not even worth looking at, however nice the listing photos are.

We’ll tell you what to check before buying, come to viewings with you and help you come to terms — in Spanish, with no misunderstandings.

What else we help with

  • We’ll book your Migración appointment

With a Ukrainian or most other passports you can book in advance, before you fly — we’ll do it for you. With a Russian passport Migración currently only books people already in Uruguay: we’ll book you as soon as you land.

  • Help with documents

Which papers to gather, where to get the apostille, which countries you need police certificates from. Translations for Migración are done here by a sworn translator (Traductor Público) — we’ll tell you where to go.

  • Enrol your child in school

We’ll help choose a school and enrol — even if your child doesn’t speak Spanish yet. I go to a Uruguayan school myself, so we know how it works from the inside.

  • Get your carné de salud

The health certificate is required for residency — we’ll go with you and interpret. We’ll also tell you which clinic we chose and why.

  • Interpret on the spot

Bank, notary (Escribano Público), doctor, talking to a landlord — we’ll come along and interpret.

  • Meet you and help you settle

Where to stay at first, how to open a bank account, get a SIM card and find your feet in the first weeks.

How it works

  1. You message us A few lines: who’s moving, when, and what’s ready.
  2. We talk Online or in person in Piriápolis — about your specific situation.
  3. We make a plan What to do, in which order and roughly what it costs.
  4. Then — together Migración, land viewings, school, interpreting — as much as you need. We agree on the format and terms upfront.

We’re not an agency and not lawyers — we’re a family who lives here and shares what we know. Deals and legal documents in Uruguay are handled by a notary (Escribano Público) and a lawyer — we’ll point you to them. Rules change sometimes, so we always double-check what’s current.

Write to us — we’ll reply today

Tell us who’s moving and what stage you’re at. We’ll suggest where to start.
